Georgie's Gourmet Galley

Georgies_sign~ Re-opening ~

Simpson Bay is abuzz with excitement. Georgie's Gourmet Galley is re-opening on Welfare Road with excellent parking in front of the Deli. Georgie's Gourmet Galley still carries high quality products, which will please all gourmet aficionados.

Shopping is always a pleasure at Georgie's with not only its great selection of fresh meat and cheeses, gourmet groceries, extensive wine list and many other exotic specialty food items, but also a staff that is friendly and welcoming. Influences of Georgie's Mediterranean heritage can be seen in the produce as well as the fresh salads served daily. Not just a gourmet shop, at Georgie's you can indulge your palates with a number of different dishes, not the least of which is the rotisserie chicken cooked daily. Lunch time, which was always popular to "meet and eat," now has more selections displayed on blackboards so one can ponder the choices offered whilst enjoying a chilled glass of wine.

Breakfast/brunch specials include homemade muesli, fruit salad, eggs sunny side up, bacon, toast, lox and bagels. What a way to start the day!

Mid-day or mid-afternoon teatime is very much one of the better English institutions. A good pot of tea with scones, jam and cream, chocolate cake, cucumber sandwiches, quiche and sausage rolls will certainly suffice those hunger pangs; also a good place to take the children to on the way home from school.

Georgie's pies are legendary and new on the menu are curried chicken pies, sweet and spicy pineapple chicken pies and a cottage pie along with old favourites, mince pies, steak and potato pies and creamy chicken pies. The crisp, light pastry is to die for. Also being introduced are grilled sandwiches and Johnny cakes.

New for the sweet-tooth is apple strudel, guaranteed to be delicious. Prosciutto, salami, roast beef, pancetta as well as roquefort from France, gouda from Holland, parmesan Cheese from Italy, feta from Greece, imports from Europe and around the globe will still be part of the extensive range of delicatessens available.

Georgie's Gourmet Galley is located on 40 A Welfare Road, Simpson Bay; its hours are Monday through Saturday, 8:00am to 6:00pm (6:30pm in high season).
