Lightworkers SXM

lighthouse~ Helping us to help ourselves – Gathering together for knowledge ~

Light Workers SXM will be having a meeting on February 11 at BB Restaurant in Cupecoy at 6:30pm. Light Workers SXM is a non-profit group of people (you find groups like these all around the world) gathering together to make a positive difference for you and me and more importantly for us all in ways that can change our way of thinking and doing – making life easier and more pleasant to live all round.

The group on St. Maarten has some really highly qualified folk who are able to guide others in positive ways of "helping themselves." We people in the world have been so brainwashed into accepting the way things are, the way things are going when, in fact, this is not acceptable and life does not need to go in that direction.

All this sounds airy-fairy, but understand what needs to be changed is our environment and the way we live. There are so many of us who just blame "the government" for all our problems. We expect "the government" to fix everything. We sit back and wait for something that will not happen. Simple things that can be changed and make our lives better are there for us to embrace and, with the help and knowledge of this group, we can make a difference for us directly and in turn for the overall environment we, our children and our children's children will live in.

Here are a few things that we can do to help enrich our lives.

Gardening: Not just for pleasant eye-appeal but for food.

Water: Conserve, direct and use.

Power: Capture, use and give back.

Environment: Ocean and land – conserve and enjoy.

Recycling: We can all make a difference.

It is so easy to have a small herb garden in a corner wherever you live. Fresh herbs and vegetables are easy to grow, but if you haven't had much success, you may need the help of someone who has had success – you will find just the right person in the Light Workers group.

Water comes from a tap and goes down the drain and often then surfaces in the yard or road – Urgh! But with a little (very little) thought, some of that water can be redirected to a small tank for use in the garden – you will find help/ideas from the right person in the Light Workers group.

Electricity comes from one source and it is not the fact that it is terribly costly, but the fact that this power often is not there!! There are other ways for us to enhance the necessity to heat water, run the lights, etc., like the wind and the sun.

Recycling can be done by us all – there is so much we can put back into the earth in the way of composting; toilet paper and paper towel cardboard centres, newspaper, kitchen scraps, etc. Simple and easily done – you will find the right person to guide you in the Light Workers group.

Environment – there is so much to learn and do to help our environment – you will find the right person in the Light Workers group.

The above and many other topics can and will be covered at these meetings. Clips of movies will be shown and full movies will be screened. To get more involved in the welfare of yourself and your family, to help make your surroundings a better and more friendly place to live, head on over to BB Restaurant in Cupecoy on Saturday at 6:30pm.
