Pets are wonderful, amazing, loving and fill a gap in your life that you did not know was there until you have a pet. Some pets you can't train like gold fish or other pets are very easy to train. Some pets, though, seem to train you, and one of these is Buddy, the Jack Russell terrier from California.
Buddy, is a 14-year old Jack Russell terrier and has been surfing with his owner for the past 10 years. In the process, he's won numerous tournaments, including the first four Surf Dog Surf-A-Thons, and became the Fido face of dog surfing thanks to appearances on Animal Planet, Pet Star, ESPN, CNN, NBC and the CBS Morning Show.
One day, when Buddy was about two years old, the children he belonged to were on the beach with their dad. Dad was throwing a board into the waves for the children to jump on and try to surf when Buddy suddenly joined in. He jumped on the board and tried to balance and get the board to move by leaning this way and that. Buddy never wanted to stop and now all these years later, he goes out surfing on his own and on his dad's board catching real waves out on the ocean.
Buddy obviously gets lots of love from his family with good food, washing and brushing and lots of care; he has become one of the family.
