National Alliance Goes Red!

Dear Editor,

At least they should be red in the face with embarrassment. How much more nonsense can we be expected to swallow? Their latest move to change the casino licence policy is nothing short of a betrayal of the interest of St. Maarten people, who fall prey to the lure of gambling.

Let them disclose how much campaign and kick back money they have received for this favour and how much of this money they handed out to voters to buy their way to power. The smell of this has reached to Holland to give more fuel to the debate there as to whether we can actually govern ourselves. What about it Mr. 10-10-10?
Oh yes! We are still angry about the Parliament building fiasco. Leader of Government Marlin your explanation that this had to be done because we had no time does not hold water. Did we miss something and you just signed the deal for 10-10-10 last week? Where is your planning? And the real estate expert you paraded for us who said this is a deal is only giving comparable rent for Front Street, our highest rent district. Is this what you call the truth?
How embarrassing it must be for you to put a candidate convicted of fraud and kick-backs on your list. That must make the blood run hot in your cheeks to enlist this lost soul, who can only run because his case is under appeal, when his shenanigans were so open and bold that people were bragging up and down the street and on buses about the favours they had paid for.
National Alliance please stop selling us out at every opportunity and help us get some respect back even if you do not care for yourselves.
