PHILIPSBURG--Media worker and promoter A.D. was detained on Thursday for what police called the culmination of a lengthy investigation into embezzlement allegations.
Prosecutor Rienk Mud said he had heard about the arrest through media inquiries, but had not been notified officially.
Police spokesman Inspector Ricardo Henson confirmed the arrest, saying it had been pending for a while, but couldn't report more because he knew little. "That's all I can say at the moment about this," Henson told The Daily Herald.
Sources said D. had been invited to the station for questioning early Thursday afternoon and then arrested.
