Synopsis: A relatively dry stable air mass across the local region is expected to linger through Friday and a generally fair weather pattern is expected to continue through at least Saturday. However, expect a quick passing shower across the islands from time to time. Otherwise, a weak area of low pressure located just Southeast of the Windward Islands is forecast to move slowly Westward and is expected to pass mainly South of the local area. However, it may bring some rainfall to the region late Saturday through Sunday.
Sea conditions: Light to moderate with waves oscillating between 2 to 3 feet.
Tropical weather systems: Tropical storm Igor weakens to a depression. At 5 PM local time the center of Igor was located at about 16.0N and 26.4W about 155 miles West Northwest of the Southernmost Cape Verde Islands. With maximum winds near the center of 35 miles per hour it moves Northwest at 13 miles per hour. The Meteorological Service of the NA & A will monitor the progress of Igor with much interest.
