The Island Government's road patching programme has been slowed by rain. The numerous potholes on the island's roads are filled with water and the near daily showers are preventing contractors from executing the patching work. The rain water is also further eroding the holes, turning them into wide, deep and dangerous traffic hazards. The potholes are also resulting in traffic being backed up in various areas as drivers must slow down to navigate around the holes.
